Shadows and the Sun

Your shadow is long in the morning, short at noon, and long again in the evening. That is because Earth is spinning! As Earth rotates, the sun appears to move across the sky from east to west. Shadows always point AWAY from the sun. When the sun is low, shadows are long. When the sun is high overhead, shadows are short.
