Start the Stopwatch!
Dr. Ruby is testing how fast ice melts. She starts the stopwatch when the ice cube goes in the warm water.
Small ice cube melts in 45 seconds.
Medium ice cube: 90 seconds (that is 1 minute and 30 seconds!).
Large ice cube: 150 seconds (2 minutes and 30 seconds).
60 seconds = 1 minute. So to convert: 90 seconds = 60 + 30 = 1 min 30 sec.
Bigger ice cubes take LONGER. The time goes UP as size goes UP.
**Think About It:** 150 - 45 = 105 seconds difference between largest and smallest!
