World Instruments
Every culture has unique instruments:
AFRICA: The djembe drum is a hand drum that produces amazing rhythms. The mbira (thumb piano) has metal keys you pluck with your thumbs. African drumming is the root of ALL modern rhythm in pop, rock, and hip-hop.
INDIA: The sitar has 18-21 strings and produces a buzzing, mystical sound. George Harrison of The Beatles fell in love with the sitar and introduced it to Western audiences.
JAPAN: The koto is a 13-stringed instrument played on the floor. The taiko drums are MASSIVE drums played with wooden sticks β the sound is thunderous!
AUSTRALIA: The didgeridoo is one of the oldest instruments in the world (40,000+ years!). Aboriginal Australians play it by blowing into a hollow log while using circular breathing.
