Your 8-Bar Masterpiece
For your final project, you will compose and perform an 8-BAR rhythm masterpiece! That is double the length of your earlier composition, which means more room for creativity.
Structure your 8 bars like a mini-story:
Bars 1-2 (Section A): introduce your main rhythm pattern. Keep it clear and catchy.
Bars 3-4 (Section B): change it up! Use different note values or add syncopation. Create contrast.
Bars 5-6 (Section A again): bring back your original pattern from bars 1-2. The return of the familiar pattern feels satisfying.
Bars 7-8 (Ending): build to a strong finish. Maybe get louder, add more notes, or end with a dramatic whole note.
This A-B-A-Ending structure gives your composition a clear shape. The listener hears something familiar (A), something new (B), the familiar again (A), and a definitive ending.
