Sound Effects & Action Lines

Comics use SOUND EFFECTS to show noises. These are usually big, bold words drawn into the art. BOOM! shows an explosion. SPLASH! shows something hitting water. RING RING! shows a phone. CRUNCH! shows something breaking. ZAP! shows electricity. Sound effects make comics exciting because you can 'hear' the action through words!
