Producers, Consumers, and Decomposers

Producers are living things that make their own food using sunlight! Plants, algae, and some bacteria are producers. They take energy from the sun, water from the ground, and carbon dioxide from the air and turn it all into food (sugar). This is called photosynthesis. Producers are the starting point of every food chain because they create the food that everything else eats. Without producers, there would be no food for anyone!
