Rocks Keep Changing!
Just like water has a water cycle, rocks have a ROCK CYCLE! Rocks are constantly being created, destroyed, and transformed — it just takes millions of years. Igneous rocks get broken down by wind and water into sediment. Sediment gets pressed into sedimentary rocks. Sedimentary rocks get heated and squeezed into metamorphic rocks. Any rock can melt back into magma, which cools into igneous rock again. Round and round it goes!
