Inside the Earth

Earth is like a giant egg. The thin outer shell is the crust — that is where we live. Under the crust is the mantle, a thick layer of very hot rock that can flow slowly like thick honey. At the center is the core, which is extremely hot — even hotter than the surface of the sun!
