Wind Vanes β Which Way?
A wind vane (also called a weather vane) shows which DIRECTION the wind is blowing FROM. It has an arrow shape that spins freely on top of a pole. The arrow always points INTO the wind β toward where the wind is coming from. If the arrow points North, we say the wind is a 'north wind' β it is blowing FROM the north. You have probably seen wind vanes shaped like roosters on top of old barns and churches!
