Bouncing Back
Resilience means bouncing back when something hard happens. Think about a rubber ball β when you throw it at the ground, it does not stay down. It BOUNCES BACK UP! That is resilience.
Life throws things at you all the time:
- You fail a test
- You lose a game
- A friend says something mean
- You try something new and it does not work
- You make a big mistake
- Something changes and it feels scary
Resilient people do NOT avoid hard things. They face them, feel their feelings, and then find a way forward. They get knocked down, but they get back up.
Here is the amazing thing: resilience is not something you are born with. It is a SKILL you can learn and practice. Just like you get better at riding a bike with practice, you get better at bouncing back with practice.
Every challenge you overcome makes your resilience muscle STRONGER.
