Homes and the Land

Native Americans built homes using materials from the land around them. In the Southwest, the Pueblo people built adobe homes from clay and straw. On the Plains, the Lakota made tepees from animal hides and wooden poles. In the Northwest, groups built longhouses from cedar wood.
