Where You Kick Matters!
In soccer, WHERE on your foot you kick the ball completely changes what happens:
INSTEP (laces): Produces the most POWER. Used for long-distance shots and clearing the ball. Your foot acts like a hammer, transferring maximum force.
INSIDE OF FOOT: Most ACCURATE. The flat surface gives better control. Used for short passes and placement shots.
OUTSIDE OF FOOT: Creates CURVE. The ball spins sideways, bending in the air. Used for tricky passes and bending shots around defenders.
TOP OF TOES: The 'toe poke' β quick but less controlled. Good for surprise shots.
Professional soccer players practice thousands of kicks to master each technique. They can hit a target from 30 yards away β that is like hitting a small goal from one end of a basketball court to the other!
