The Writing Process
Great writers follow a process. Here are the steps:
1. PLAN: Think about what you want to write. Brainstorm ideas.
2. DRAFT: Write your first draft. Get your ideas down. Do not worry about mistakes.
3. REVISE: Make it better. Add details, choose stronger words, add feelings.
4. EDIT: Fix mistakes. Check capitals, punctuation, and spelling.
5. PUBLISH: Share your final, polished writing with the world!
The most important thing to remember: steps 3 and 4 are where the magic happens. Your first draft gets your ideas out. Revising and editing turn those ideas into something beautiful.
Do not skip revising and editing! It is tempting to write something once and call it done, but taking the extra time to improve it makes a HUGE difference.
