In the 1950s and 1960s, Pop Art exploded onto the scene in America and Britain. Pop artists said, 'Why can not everyday things be art?' They painted soup cans, comic books, movie stars, and advertisements. They used bold colors, thick outlines, and repeated images. Pop Art brought art out of fancy museums and into the world of popular culture!
