Music Is Built on Patterns
Patterns are sequences that repeat. In math, a pattern might be 2, 4, 6, 8 (adding 2 each time). In music, a pattern might be clap-clap-REST-clap-clap-REST. Rhythmic patterns repeat throughout a song and give it its feel. A drum beat is a pattern: kick-snare-kick-snare repeating over and over. Finding patterns is a skill used in both math and music!
