Putting It All Together
You have learned that notes are fractions, rhythms are patterns, pitch is frequency, and harmony is ratios. These are not separate ideas — they all work together in every piece of music! When a drummer plays a repeating pattern (math pattern) with quarter notes (fractions) at a certain tempo (beats per minute — division!), they are doing math constantly. Music IS math that you can hear.
