What Is Interest?
When you put money in a savings account at a bank, the bank pays you a small percentage extra called INTEREST. It is like a reward for letting the bank hold your money! If you deposit $100 and earn 5% interest per year, after one year you have $105. The bank pays you for saving because they use your money to make loans to other people. Interest makes your money grow without you doing any extra work!
