Physical and Political Maps

A physical map shows natural features of the land: mountains, rivers, lakes, deserts, plains, and forests. Physical maps use colors to show elevation — green for low areas, yellow and brown for higher areas, and white for the highest mountain peaks. Blue shows water. These maps help you understand the landscape.
