Kinetic Typography
Kinetic typography is the art of moving text to express meaning beyond what the words alone convey. The word 'EXPLODE' flying apart letter by letter performs its meaning. 'Whisper' fading in softly at small scale embodies its concept. This technique originated in film title sequences—Saul Bass's work for Hitchcock and Scorsese made type an integral part of the cinematic experience. Today, kinetic type is everywhere: social media reels, presentation intros, app onboarding screens, and lyric videos. The key principle is that the motion should amplify the word's meaning, not distract from it.
