Meet the Pet Fish

Goldfish are one of the most popular pets in the world! They have been kept as pets for over 1,000 years, starting in ancient China. Goldfish come in many varieties — common goldfish, fantails with flowing double tails, bubble-eyes with big puffy cheeks, and orandas with bumpy caps on their heads! A healthy goldfish can live 10 to 15 years — some have lived over 40 years! Goldfish need big tanks because they produce a lot of waste. A bowl is NOT a good home for a goldfish.
