Here is a wild fact — a horse walks on ONE giant toenail on each foot! A hoof is made of the same material as your fingernails, called keratin. It grows all the time, just like your nails! Horses have very strong legs with long bones and powerful muscles. Their legs are built for running fast and far. A horse's hoof is shaped like a half-moon and is tough enough to walk on rocks, dirt, and grass without getting hurt.
