A rabbit's long ears are like satellite dishes for sound! They can rotate each ear independently — one ear can point forward while the other points backward! This helps rabbits hear danger from any direction. Rabbit ears also help them stay cool in hot weather. Blood flows through the thin skin of their ears, and the air cools it down — like a built-in air conditioner! Some breeds, like lop rabbits, have ears that hang down instead of standing up.
