What Is a Burrow?
Wild rabbits live in underground tunnels called burrows! A burrow is a hole that rabbits dig into the ground. Rabbits use their strong front paws to dig through dirt. A single burrow has an entrance, a tunnel, and a cozy room at the end called a chamber. The chamber is lined with soft grass and fur that the mommy rabbit pulls from her own body to make a warm, soft nest. Burrows keep rabbits safe from rain, wind, heat, cold, and predators!
