Colors Have Feelings!
Did you know colors can make you feel warm or cool? It is true! Artists sort colors into two families: warm colors and cool colors.
Warm colors are red, orange, and yellow. They remind us of hot things like fire, the sun, and lava. When you see a room painted in warm colors, it feels cozy and energetic.
Cool colors are blue, green, and purple. They remind us of cool things like water, ice, trees, and the night sky. Cool colors make us feel calm and peaceful.
Look at the color wheel: warm colors are on one side and cool colors are on the other. It is like the color wheel is split into a sunny side and a shady side!
