What Is a Line?
A line is one of the most basic things in all of art. It is simply a mark that goes from one point to another. Every drawing, every painting, every building design starts with lines!
Lines can be long or short, thick or thin, and they can go in any direction: up, down, sideways, or even diagonally. Lines are everywhere around you, from the edge of your desk to the branches of a tree.
Today we are going to learn about different types of lines. Each type has its own personality and feeling. Learning about lines will make you a better artist because lines are the building blocks of every picture you will ever draw!
