Lines Tell Stories
Every line you draw tells a little story. A zigzag line might say 'I am sharp and exciting!' A wavy line might say 'I am calm and peaceful.' A spiral says 'Follow me round and round!'
When you combine different lines in one drawing, you create a whole world with different feelings and textures. A landscape drawing might use straight lines for buildings, curved lines for hills, zigzag lines for mountains, wavy lines for a river, dotted lines for rain, and spiral lines for flowers.
Artists think carefully about which lines to use in each part of their drawing. The lines they choose help tell the story of the picture.
