The Magic of Paper Folding
Origami is the amazing art of folding paper into shapes β and it comes from Japan! The word origami is made of two Japanese words: ori means folding and gami means paper. So origami literally means paper folding!
People in Japan have been folding paper for hundreds and hundreds of years. They fold paper into beautiful animals, flowers, boxes, and even dragons! And the coolest part? You do not need glue, tape, or scissors. You just fold!
All you need is one square piece of paper. That is it! With just folds, you can turn that flat square into a 3D dog, a boat that floats, an airplane that flies, or a beautiful heart.
Origami teaches you to be patient and careful with your hands. Each fold needs to be neat and precise. Line up the edges carefully and press the fold down flat with your finger. The neater your folds, the better your origami will look!
