Planning Your Wrapping Paper
The best project for stamp printing is making your own wrapping paper! Imagine wrapping a birthday present in paper that YOU designed and printed. That is so special!
Before you start printing, plan your design. Ask yourself these questions:
What stamps will I use? Pick two or three shapes that go together. Hearts and stars. Circles and triangles. Flowers and leaves.
What colors will I use? Pick two or three colors that look good together. Red and gold. Blue and silver. Rainbow colors. Green and purple.
What pattern will I make? An AB pattern of alternating shapes? An ABC pattern of three shapes? Rows of the same shape in different colors? A random scattered design?
How big will the stamps be? Will you use big stamps or small stamps? A mix of sizes?
Draw a quick sketch of your pattern idea with a pencil first. This is called a design plan. Real designers always plan before they create!
