All About Bowls
Bowls are round, deep containers for holding food. They come in many sizes!
Cereal bowl: Medium-sized, perfect for cereal and milk, soup, salad, ice cream, and fruit. This is probably the bowl you use most!
Mixing bowl: Large bowls used for mixing ingredients when cooking. They are too big to eat from but perfect for stirring batter, tossing salad, or making fruit salad.
Small prep bowls: Tiny bowls for holding small amounts of ingredients β a pinch of salt, a scoop of sugar, some chopped herbs. Cooks use these to organize their ingredients before cooking.
Serving bowl: Big beautiful bowls for putting food in the center of the table so everyone can serve themselves.
Bowls are usually made of ceramic (hard, breakable, stays cool), plastic (lightweight, does not break β great for kids!), glass (clear, breakable), or metal (very strong, used for mixing).
Kid tip: If you are helping in the kitchen, use plastic or metal bowls. They will not break if you accidentally drop them!
