What Is a Puppet?
A puppet is a figure that you move with your hands to make it seem alive! Puppets have been used to tell stories for thousands of years in cultures all around the world.
There are many types of puppets:
Sock puppets: made from socks! Your hand goes inside and makes the mouth move.
Hand puppets: glove-like puppets that fit over your hand. Famous ones include the Muppets!
Finger puppets: tiny puppets that fit on one finger.
Stick puppets: flat figures attached to sticks that you hold up.
Marionettes: puppets controlled by strings from above.
Today we are going to make SOCK PUPPETS! They are the easiest to make and the most fun to play with. All you need is an old sock, some craft supplies, and your imagination.
