Getting Ready for Showtime
It is SHOWTIME! Here is your pre-show checklist:
Stage: set up your stage (table, cardboard box, blanket, or couch).
Puppets: have your puppets within easy reach behind the stage.
Script: have your script nearby in case you need to glance at it.
Audience: invite your family, friends, or stuffed animals to sit and watch.
Before the show starts:
Welcome your audience! Pop a puppet up and say: Welcome to the show! Today we present... (your show title)!
Or make a sign with the show title and hold it up.
During the show:
Speak LOUD enough for everyone to hear.
Use different voices for different characters.
Make the puppet face the audience most of the time.
Open the mouth on syllables.
Show emotions with big movements.
If you make a mistake, keep going! The audience probably did not notice.
