Coming-of-Age Celebrations
Many cultures have special celebrations when children grow up. In Japan, children celebrate Shichi-Go-San at ages 3, 5, and 7, wearing beautiful traditional clothes called kimono and visiting a shrine. In some Latin American countries, girls celebrate their quinceañera at age 15 with a big party. In many African cultures, there are special ceremonies when children become young adults.
