Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere

Did you know that in Australia, Christmas happens during summer? While children in the Northern Hemisphere might see snow, Australian kids celebrate Christmas at the beach! Families have barbecues instead of big roast dinners, and Santa sometimes arrives on a surfboard or in a boat. They still have Christmas trees, but they also decorate with native Australian flowers.
