Dragon Dance and Red Envelopes

One of the most exciting parts of Lunar New Year is the dragon dance! A long, colorful dragon made of silk and bamboo is carried by a team of dancers who weave and twist through the streets. The dragon can be very long, sometimes over 100 feet! Drums, cymbals, and gongs play loud, exciting music. The dragon dance is believed to bring good luck and scare away evil spirits.
