Testing Time!
Get your magnet ready! For each object, hold the magnet close to it and see what happens.
PAPER CLIP: Hold the magnet near the paper clip. SNAP! It jumps right to the magnet! Paper clips are made of steel wire, and steel is magnetic.
WOODEN BLOCK: Hold the magnet near the wood. Nothing happens! Wood is not magnetic at all.
IRON NAIL: Bring the magnet close. SNAP! The nail flies to the magnet! Nails are made of iron, and iron is one of the most magnetic materials.
ERASER: The magnet has no effect on the eraser. Rubber is not magnetic.
