Build a Complete Water Cycle Model
You made rain in a jar, but now let us build a complete water cycle model that shows ALL the parts!
Our model will show:
1. A body of water at the bottom (ocean or lake)
2. The sun providing heat energy
3. Water vapor rising up (evaporation)
4. A cloud forming (condensation)
5. Rain falling down (precipitation)
6. Water flowing back to the ocean (collection)
In a real water cycle model, you can use plastic wrap over warm water to see actual condensation happen! When warm water evaporates, the vapor hits the cool plastic wrap, condenses into droplets, and drips back down like rain.
Today in our virtual lab, you will build this model piece by piece and see how all the parts connect.
