Testing Each Bottle
Time to shake and listen! Let us test each bottle one at a time.
RICE BOTTLE: Shake it! What do you hear? Rice makes a sharp, rattling sound, like rain hitting a tin roof. The tiny grains bounce around quickly and hit the sides of the bottle many times, making lots of quick sounds.
BEAN BOTTLE: Shake it! Beans make a different sound: deeper and clunkier, more like a maraca. Each bean is bigger than a grain of rice, so it hits the bottle harder but less often.
Listen to both again. Which one has a higher pitch? The rice! It makes faster, smaller vibrations. The beans make slower, bigger vibrations that sound lower.
