Five-Frame Fun: 5+0 and 0+5

The number 5 is very special. You have 5 fingers on each hand. There are 5 toes on each foot. Today we are going to discover all the different ways to make 5 by adding two numbers together. We call these number bonds. When two numbers add up to 5, they are a number bond for 5. The first pair is the simplest: 5 and 0. Five plus zero equals 5, and zero plus 5 also equals 5. Adding zero is like doing nothing — the number stays the same!
