Fair Shares for Everyone
Sam baked 6 cupcakes and wants to share them equally with his 2 friends. That means 3 people total (Sam + 2 friends) need an equal share.
Let's deal them out one at a time:
Sam gets 1, Friend 1 gets 1, Friend 2 gets 1.
Sam gets 1 more, Friend 1 gets 1 more, Friend 2 gets 1 more.
Everyone gets 2 cupcakes! 6 shared among 3 people = 2 each.
Sharing equally means every person gets the SAME number. Nobody gets more, nobody gets less. That's FAIR!
**Think About It:** What if they had 9 cupcakes instead? 9 shared among 3 = 3 each!
