Setting the Table
It's Zara's birthday! She invited 6 friends to her party. Her mom asks: 'Do we have enough plates?'
Zara counts the plates: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. She has 8 plates!
She has 6 friends (plus herself = 7 people). She has 8 plates. 8 is more than 7, so YES β there are enough plates! She'll even have 8 - 7 = 1 extra.
One-to-one means EACH person gets EXACTLY one plate. We match them up: one plate per person.
**Think About It:** If 2 more friends come, she'd need 9 plates total. 8 is not enough β she'd need 1 more!
