Your Body Is a Drum Kit!
You do not need drums, shakers, or any instruments to make music. Your body is a drum kit! You can make at least four different percussion sounds just by using your hands, fingers, and feet.
CLAP: bring both palms together flat. Hit them against each other with a quick motion. CLAP! This makes a sharp, bright sound. Try clapping loud and soft. Try clapping fast and slow.
SNAP: press your middle finger against your thumb, then quickly slide your finger off your thumb and down to hit the base of your thumb. SNAP! This makes a crisp, clicking sound. Snapping is tricky β it takes practice! If you cannot snap yet, that is totally fine. You will get it!
STOMP: lift one foot and bring it down firmly on the floor. STOMP! This makes a deep, boomy sound. You can stomp with just the front of your foot or with your whole foot flat.
PAT: pat your hands on your thighs (the tops of your legs). PAT! This makes a softer, warmer sound than clapping. You can pat with both hands at once or alternate left and right.
