Trash to Treasure
One person's trash is another person's treasure! With a little creativity, you can turn things that would be thrown away into something amazing.
Cardboard boxes are the ultimate creative material. A big box can become a spaceship, a castle, a car, or a puppet theater. Cut windows and doors, paint it, and add decorations. When you are done playing, the cardboard can still be recycled!
Plastic bottles can become bird feeders. Cut two holes in the sides of a plastic bottle, push a wooden spoon through (creating a perch and a seed tray), fill the bottle with birdseed, and hang it from a tree branch.
Old socks with holes can become sock puppets! Stuff the toe with paper, add googly eyes and yarn hair, and you have a new friend.
Egg cartons are perfect for organizing small things like beads, buttons, or crayons. They also make great seed-starting containers β fill each cup with soil, plant a seed, and water it.
The key to creative reuse is looking at objects differently. Instead of seeing a "used container," try to see a "container that could hold something new!"
**Challenge:** Before throwing anything away this week, spend ten seconds thinking: What else could this become?
