Gentle Hands, Quiet Voice
The most important rule around ANY animal is to be GENTLE. Pets are living creatures with feelings β they can feel pain, fear, and happiness, just like you.
Gentle touch means: petting softly with an open hand (not grabbing or squeezing), stroking in the direction the fur grows, and being careful around the face, ears, and tail. NEVER pull a pet's tail, ears, or whiskers!
Quiet voice means: talking softly and calmly. Loud screaming or yelling scares animals. A scared animal might bite or scratch to protect itself. Always approach an animal slowly and let it see you coming β sneaking up startles them!
