The Middle Sound

Every CVC word has three sounds: beginning, middle, and end. The middle sound is always a vowel! Say 'cat' slowly: /k/ — /a/ — /t/. The middle sound is /a/. Say 'pig': /p/ — /i/ — /g/. The middle sound is /i/.
