Fur and Hair

Fur is soft, thick hair that covers the bodies of many animals. Dogs have fur. Cats have fur. Bears, rabbits, and mice all have fur! Fur is like a warm blanket that the animal wears all the time. When it is cold outside, fur keeps the animal nice and toasty. Some animals have short fur and some have long, fluffy fur. A polar bear has very thick fur to stay warm in the freezing Arctic!
