Coral Reefs — Underwater Cities

Coral looks like colorful rocks or plants, but guess what — it is actually made of tiny animals! Thousands of tiny creatures called 'polyps' build hard shells around themselves. Over many years, these shells stack up and create a huge coral reef. Coral reefs come in amazing colors: pink, purple, orange, yellow, and blue! They grow in warm, shallow water where the sun can reach them.
