What Is an Adaptation?
An adaptation is a special feature that helps an animal survive in its habitat. Ocean animals have incredible adaptations! Fish have gills to breathe underwater. Dolphins and whales have blowholes on top of their heads to breathe air when they come to the surface. Sea otters have super thick fur to stay warm in cold water. Every ocean animal has something special that helps it live in the water.
