Then she sticks her eggs right onto the leaf. Some eggs are round like little balls. Others are shaped like tiny ovals. Butterfly eggs can be white, yellow, or even green! They are so small you might need a magnifying glass to see them. Inside each little egg, a baby caterpillar is growing. The egg keeps the baby safe and warm, like a tiny sleeping bag.
