The Beautiful Butterfly

The butterfly stretches its beautiful wings in the sunshine. Its wings are covered in thousands of tiny scales — that is what makes the pretty colors and patterns! Each kind of butterfly has its own special pattern. Monarch butterflies are orange and black. Blue morpho butterflies shimmer bright blue! The butterfly uses its antennae to smell flowers. It unrolls its long, curly tongue — the proboscis — to drink sweet nectar from flowers. Sip, sip, sip!
