The Seed

A seed is like a tiny suitcase packed for a trip! Inside every seed is a baby plant waiting to grow. The seed also has a little bit of food to help the baby plant get started. The outside of the seed is a hard coat that protects it — like a jacket! Seeds come in all shapes and sizes. An apple seed is tiny, but a coconut is a giant seed! Some seeds are round, some are flat, and some have little wings so the wind can carry them.
